Language production through speaking and typing
While language production is mostly studied through speaking, a huge proportion of our daily production is actually written (texts, emails, etc.). In this talk, I will explore language production through two modalities, speaking and typing. First I will present evidence that typing and speaking do share some of their underlying cognitive architecture, allowing for the comparison between them. Second, I will present evidence regarding how both modalities can interact to determine how much neural substrates and underlying mechanisms are shared between modalities in order to ultimately draw a comprehensive view of the language system.
